A baitball at sea is usually described as as a whirling dervish of succulent sardines or like baitfish speeding as a cyclone in an impossible defense against so many predators after them.
Alas our baitball is taking place above and below the surface hosting misfits entangled in flotsam and jetsam debris cast off by the humans on the land or lost while hunting or poaching as they are pursued by the reigning powers of the deep with their environment now adrift at sea.
